Rules of the draw

The 2023 edition of the Perfectswimming.com contest is held by the Lifesaving Society®. It will run in the province of Quebec from 00:01 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023, to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023.

Contest rules

1. ENTRY CONDITIONS

1.1 Entrants must be residents of Quebec, Canadian citizens, or permanent residents and be 18 years of age or older to be eligible.

1.2 The following are not eligible: employees, representatives, or agents of the Lifesaving Society, and the people with whom they are domiciled.

1.3 Only one (1) entry per person and per physical address is permitted.

1.4 The Lifesaving Society reserves the right to disqualify any person who enters or attempts to enter the contest using methods that violate the spirit of the contest (e.g., hacking, bulk emailing). The person involved will be automatically disqualified and may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities. Entry forms sent by fax, courier service, or mail, in person, or in any manner other than the one set out in these rules will not be accepted.

1.5 Entries become the property of the Lifesaving Society and will not be returned.

1.6 No purchase necessary.

2. HOW TO ENTER

2.1 Visit the www.perfecswimming.com or www.baignadeparfaite.com website and complete the self-evaluation test.

3. CONTEST PERIOD

3.1 The contest is open from 00:01 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023, to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 (entry reception time).

Odds of winning: The odds of a person’s entry being randomly drawn depend on the total number of valid entries received and recorded during the contest period.

4. CONTEST PRIZE

4.1 The contest prize is a gift certificate of a maximum value of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1 500) valid from Tuesday, November 15, 2023 until Thursday, November 15, 2024, inclusively for the purchase of products and services from:

The gift certificate may be used for one or more purchases of products or services of up to $1 500 from the same business. In the event the winner’s purchases total less than $1 500 at the end of the period during which the prize is valid, this person cannot claim the remaining amount in cash or credit. The unused amount remains the property of the Lifesaving Society.

4.2 The winner cannot transfer this prize to another person or receive the equivalent value in cash.

5. WINNER SELECTION 5.1 The electronic draw will take place Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lifesaving Society’s office located at 7665 Lacordaire blv., in Montreal.

5.2 The winner will be informed by email. In the event that the prize notification is returned within seven days because it could not be delivered by email, the winning entry will be disqualified and another draw will be held.

The person contacted must respond by email within a maximum of ten days.

If a response has not been received by this date, a new draw will be held with the same response time period and procedures for the winner.

5.3 In the event the prize is refused, a new draw will be held as soon as possible with the same procedures.

5.4 The winner will be informed that he or she will receive the contest rules and a prize acceptance and release form, which must be initialed and signed and returned by mail to the Lifesaving Society before the prize is awarded.

6. AWARDING OF THE PRIZE

6.1 The prize will be awarded to the winner in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the Lifesaving Society.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS

7.1 All electronic entries are subject to verification by the contest organizers. Incomplete or fraudulent entries will be automatically rejected and will not qualify for a prize. In such cases, the organizers will conduct a new draw. The organizers’ decision in this respect is final and binding.

7.2 The prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, substituted for another prize, or exchanged in whole or in part for cash. In the event that, for reasons beyond their control and not associated with the winners, the organizers cannot award a prize as described in these rules, they reserve the right to award a prize of the same type and equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the cash value of the prize.

7.3 By entering this contest, the winner authorizes the contest organizers and their representatives to use his or her name, photograph, image, statement about the prize, place of residence, and/or voice for promotional purposes without any form of compensation. The winner also accepts that his or her name will be disclosed on the Lifesaving Society websites.

7.4 The winner releases the employees, representatives, and agents of the Lifesaving Society, their affiliates, members, and divisions from any damages that may arise from acceptance or use of the prize.

7.5 The organizers of this contest assume no responsibility for the malfunctioning of any computer component, software, or communication line; the loss or absence of network communication; or for any transmission that is defective, incomplete, incomprehensible, or deleted by any computer or network and which may limit the possibility of or prevent any person from entering the contest. The organizers of this contest assume no responsibility for any damage or loss that may arise directly or indirectly, in whole or in part from downloading any software or sending any information associated with entering the contest.

7.6 The contest organizers are not responsible for technical, mechanical, computer, telecommunication, distribution, or production errors; delays; lost addresses; or printing, programming, or any other issues and can cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the contest if such errors occur, without obligation or notice, at their sole discretion and subject to the approval of Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, if applicable.

7.7 Under no circumstances will the contest organizers be required to award more prizes than the number stated in these rules and, in all cases, the maximum value awarded cannot exceed the value indicated in the CONTEST PRIZE section.

7.8 Any litigation respecting the organization or conduct of a publicity contest may be submitted to Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie solely for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

7.9 Any attempt to deliberately damage a website associated with this contest or to sabotage the legitimate operation of the contest is a violation of civil and criminal law. If such attempts are made, the organizers of the contest reserve the right to reject the entry form and to seek redress under the law.

7.10 For the purposes of these rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the electronic entry form. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person whose name appears on the electronic entry form, the holder of the email address will be considered the entrant.

7.11 Entry in the contest constitutes acceptance of these contest rules.

7.12 Subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations, these rules govern all aspects of the contest and bind all entrants.

7.13 All decisions of the organizers regarding this contest are final and binding.
