This site contains recommendations on water safety and the safe installation of residential swimming pools. Even though these safety recommendations were developed and/or issued based on coroners’ research, the rules set out in the Residential Swimming Pool Safety Regulation, the standards advocated by the Lifesaving Society, and the standards of the Bureau de normalisation du Québec regarding diving boards for residential in-ground swimming pools, they are provided for illustration only and have no legal value.
