1. Presentation

This site contains recommendations on water safety and the safe installation of residential swimming pools. Even though these safety recommendations were developed and/or issued based on coroners’ research, the rules set out in the Residential Swimming Pool Safety Regulation, the standards advocated by the Lifesaving Society, and the standards of the Bureau de normalisation du Québec regarding diving boards for residential in-ground swimming pools, they are provided for illustration only and have no legal value.

2. Terms of use

All users of the Lifesaving Society website are deemed to have read, accepted, and acknowledged the validity of the terms below and therefore agree to abide and be bound by them. If you do not accept these terms of use, you must stop using this site. Please note that the terms may be changed at any time.

3. Privacy

When you send personal information through this site, including by email, you do so voluntarily with full knowledge of the facts and you assume all risks. However, and subject to the next paragraph concerning authorization for questions and photographs, the Lifesaving Society agrees to take the steps required to keep the personal information you send it confidential and safe.

4. Authorization for questions and photographs

Users who decide to send questions or photographs relating to the installation of swimming pools to the Lifesaving Society or upload them to this site do so voluntarily and expressly agree to those questions or photographs being posted on the website of the Lifesaving Society. People who send photographs must hold the rights to them and, if applicable, must have obtained the consent of the people appearing in them or, in the case of minors, of their parents or guardians. By submitting questions or photographs through this site, including by email, to the Lifesaving Society, you grant it a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute those questions or photographs. Furthermore, you waive all moral rights to those questions or photographs. You acknowledge that information or documents submitted for inclusion on this site do not infringe any intellectual property right or other rights of third parties, and you give the Lifesaving Society the right to grant access to them on its site.

5. Limitation of liability

All information contained or conveyed on this site is provided for informational and educational purposes. The Lifesaving Society makes no representation or warranty regarding the accuracy, availability, quality, reliability, truthfulness, legality, or completeness of the information contained or conveyed on this site. The Lifesaving Society assumes no responsibility for any errors, omissions, or any consequences arising from the use of this information. Under no circumstances will the Lifesaving Society and its employees, agents, officers, directors, suppliers, or representatives be held responsible for any loss, harm, or any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damage arising from or connected with the use of this site or resulting from reliance on information available or provided on this site.
